again watch the focal area. this would be a much better print if the slug was completely in focus. remember depth-of-field is as it is...depth. the slug being the main focus of the image should be completely in focus do to it being (mostly) perpendicular to the lens. the leaf, however is parallel to the lens thus it has a vanishing point (depth). got it? get it? good. god speed little seed. understanding what makes depth, depth makes for good photography. this may help: try, when viewing through the camera, to think of it as a 3D film; what do you want to draw attention to and make pop to the audience-one key to macro vision..no?
