This is one of the caterpillars that I found in my backyard. It was living in a bunch of overgrown weeds along with a whole family of caterpillars, big and small. More Caterpillar pictures below.

He sure is! It actually isn't going to be a butterfly, it is a type of moth! They are called White Lined Sphinx Moths or Hummingbird Moths see [link] and [link]
Idk if we have those guys around here. . . we do have some cool moths that're red white and black though, they're really small and hard to spot unless you're really looking for them lol
